Parsing for Targeted Errors in Controlled Languages
نویسنده
چکیده
The use of Controlled Languages in technical documentation is becoming a large concern for many organisations. Authoring texts which conform to these speciications is a problematic process: the language deenition may be vague, the most immediate grammatical construction may not be permitted and so on. Technological support for the writing process may ooer a number of aids, including style, or grammar, checkers. The ability to recognise variations to the prescribed grammar is at the heart of such systems. This paper presents a variation on the chart parsing method which encodes the grammar as nite state automata productions instead of a linear description of constituents. The system allows the grammar writer to deene a number of variations to a grammar rule, in the form of targeted insertions and deletions, which are represented as transformations to the automata.

Data-driven systems can be adapted to different languages and domains easily. Using this trend in dependency parsing was lead to introduce data-driven approaches. Existence of appreciate corpora that contain sentences and theirs associated dependency trees are the only pre-requirement in data-driven approaches. Despite obtaining high accurate results for dependency parsing task in English langu...
متن کاملAn improved joint model: POS tagging and dependency parsing
Dependency parsing is a way of syntactic parsing and a natural language that automatically analyzes the dependency structure of sentences, and the input for each sentence creates a dependency graph. Part-Of-Speech (POS) tagging is a prerequisite for dependency parsing. Generally, dependency parsers do the POS tagging task along with dependency parsing in a pipeline mode. Unfortunately, in pipel...
متن کاملFuzzy context-free languages - Part 2: Recognition and parsing algorithms
In a companion paper [9] we used fuzzy context-free grammars in order to model grammatical errors resulting in erroneous inputs for robust recognizing and parsing algorithms for fuzzy context-free languages. In particular, this approach enables us to distinguish between small errors (“tiny mistakes”) and big errors (“capital blunders”). In this paper we present some algorithms to recognize fuzz...
متن کاملRelative Clause Ambiguity Resolution in L1 and L2: Are Processing Strategies Transferred?
This study aims at investigating whether Persian native speakers highly advanced in English as a second language (L2ers) can switch to optimal processing strategies in the languages they know and whether working memory capacity (WMC) plays a role in this respect. To this end, using a self-paced reading task, we examined the processing strategies 62 Persian speaking proficient L2ers used to read...
متن کاملError Recovery in Parsing Relational Languages
The ability to report syntactic errors and to recover from them are basic requirements for any programming environment where programs are parsed before execution. Advanced error handling techniques are standard tools when processing textual programs, whereas in the context of visual languages the problem is factually unexplored. In this work, we develop an error recovery strategy for the parsin...
